Gladinet maps Amazon Cloud Drive to your Windows desktop

amazon cloud drive
Amazon's recently-introduced Cloud Drive is a great place to store your files online. It offers 5 gigs of totally free space, and U.S. users also get access to the handy Cloud Player app (for Web and Android!) which streams music you upload to your Cloud Drive.

The service could be a little easier to use, however. Until Amazon releases a desktop client, Windows users might want to take another look at Gladinet. The multi-service cloud connector has now added Amazon Cloud Drive support and will let you map a network drive letter to your account with minimal fuss.

Once you've added your credentials to Gladinet, just pick the letter you want to assign to the drive and you're good to go. You can then copy files to and from your Cloud Drive, rename items, and manage folders like you would any local hard drive in your system.

The only downside is that the free version of Gladinet gives you a limited number of cloud interactions. Once you use those up, you'll need to upgrade to the paid version, which costs $49.99. If you work with a number of cloud-based storage providers, however, it could be well worth the price tag.

Early Football Helmets Were Super Effective Against Brick Walls [Video]

Because nothing sells a new helmet design like blunt force trauma, this wild-haired inventor demonstrates the head-piece's protection against blows the old fashioned way—being bludgeoned by a local football club and running headlong into walls. More »

PSX games now available in the Android Market, if you own an Xperia Play

PlayStation One games on the Android Market
If you're lucky enough to own an Xperia Play -- Sony Ericsson's new Gingerbread-powered smartphone-cum-gamepad -- you can now buy PlayStation (PSX) titles from the Android Market.

There are five titles currently available, all priced at £3.99: Syphon Filter, MediEvil, Cool Boarders 2, Destruction Derby, and Jumping Flash. They don't have an American price yet, but that will surely change once the Xperia Play launches in the States.

Two important questions remain unanswered: How big are these games? The Market descriptions say the games are only 5MB, but that sounds incredibly unlikely -- and more importantly, will it be possible to 'spoof' the Xperia Play and download PSX games onto other Gingerbread-powered phones, like the Nexus S?

In other news, the PlayStation emulator PSX4droid was recently removed from the Android Market. This obviously has nothing to do with today's release of first-party PlayStation games.

Sony Mobile celebrates 'Night of Imagination' with Labrinth and iLuminate

Previously we mentioned that Sony Mobile would be taking on some new inspiration for the launch of their latest devices being the Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U by heading up a new promotion called 'Night of Imagination'. To help kick things off right in London, they teamed up British singer-songwriter Labrinth and a group called iLuminate who have created the world’s first and only wearable, wireless lighting technology, using LED and EL-wire.

The 'Night of Imagination' was quite a success for Sony Mobile with Labrinth performing songs from his latest album, Electronic Earth and iLuminate providing stunning on-stage visuals for the audience. If you're looking to check out some of the footage, you can jump past the break for a video from the event itself.

Sprint announces ICS for the Nexus S 4G, official download now available

To all the broken-hearted owners of the Nexus S 4G waiting for their chance to play with an official build of Ice Cream Sandwich: wait no longer. Sprint announced in a forum post (and subsequently on Twitter) that it's finally ready to unleash Android 4.0.4 to the anxious masses -- not just the adventurous souls willing to try out the leaked version last weekend. If you own this phone, we're guessing you're no longer reading this post. But, if you are, go check to see if your update is available. Do it.

[Thanks, Brent]
